About the Program

Italy: Sea, Sun & Soul is a five-week long study abroad program that integrates cultural and language immersion in two of Italy's most beloved cities: Rome and Naples!

Students will explore the cultural and historic sites of these cities, study the Italian language and enjoy authentic Roman and Neapolitan cuisine!

Preparing to Go Abroad

Prior to going abroad students will spend a semester completing a research project about a cultural site or monument in either Rome or Naples. Sites can include the Colosseum, the Roman Forum or the ruins of Pompeii etc. At the end of the semester students will present their project and prepare for an on-site presentation.

Going Abroad

During the stay abroad students will spend 3 weeks in Rome and 2 weeks in Naples becoming immersed in all parts of Italian culture. On a typical day students can expect to take Italian language classes in the morning and spend the afternoons visiting cultural sites and going on other excursions around Italy. As part of the cultural experience each student will give a short presentation at the actual site of their project. This is a way to get the very best out of each cultural experience!

Post-Travel

After returning from Italy students will complete a final project about Italy: Sea, Sun & Soul to promote the program to other future students. The project is very short and students can choose however they want to promote the program. Finally, students will volunteer at the Study Abroad Fair to help recruit future students to the program.
